In July 2000, as part of a large-scale privatization pilot project, the German group HeidelbergCement, one of the world&#8217;s largest producers of construction materials, which employs about 60,000 people, bought a majority stake in Kakanj&#8217;s cement plant for 55 million KM. This world giant has committed to invest 95.95 million KM in Kakanj cement plant and related activities by the end of 2010. Since then, the Kakanj Cement Factory has been on the rise and lowering success after success. By the end of 2014, almost 200 million KM had been invested in the factory and related activities, and the privatization obligation was fulfilled at the end of 2006. Production technology is improving from year to year, and environmental protection standards are rising to the European level. In 2008, the Kakanj cement plant achieved a record production of 770,000 tons of cement.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/ekonomskiforum.efsa.unsa.ba\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/FIC-high-resolution.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1146\" width=\"241\" height=\"105\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Foreign Investors Council (FIC) is a non-profit business association representing the interests of foreign companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
